The idea: Bear put spread on a bounce inside a down trend
The Nasdaq-100 ETF is in a down trend with RSI in the low 40s, and today's bounce could be a counter-trend rally that fades. A put spread lets the idea play out with a fixed, known maximum loss. The risk is that the bounce extends and takes price toward the upper end of the range.
Chance of reaching the first target before the stop: about 28% (range 21% to 35%). Confidence in the read: medium. This is an estimate from a simple model of price swings, not a promise.
How it is protected and managed
Hedges and limits. A vertical spread caps the loss at the premium paid and lowers the cost compared with a single put. It also partly offsets the long Apple idea on the equity side.
What proves it wrong. A daily close above the recent range resistance, or a trend change from down to up.
Management plan. Take a partial at 1R of the spread's value, and close early if the thesis breaks. Avoid holding into the final days before expiry, when time decay accelerates.
